What is The Smart Ports Alliance?
The Smart Ports Alliance is a network of forward-thinking organisations, invested in a collaborative approach to the development of industry best-practice application of new digital technologies that enable a sustainable future for ports, terminals and the broader supply chain that they serve.
Our goal is to empower a connected network of ports and terminals with the knowledge, skills, and tools to accelerate the delivery of successful digitalisation and change throughout the supply chain.

I recognise too that in a community-based industry like maritime and ports, reputation is everything. I only stand behind technologies I believe in and validate with my own experiences before recommending to industry colleagues. Every organisation aspires to Data Driven Decision-Making, and there’s huge excitement in the industry around the opportunities that AI and Digital Twins can offer, but without strong data foundations, meaningful outcomes become an elusive goal. I’m not aware of any other organisation offering this service to the Maritime and Ports Industry. As the first company to bring this tool into the market, I see huge opportunities – to grow my business and help shape the future of an entire industry.
What’s the big ambition?
I believe every business, large and small, should have the same opportunities for change to address the growing digital gap and to turn their data into a valuable asset worthy of an appearance on the Balance Sheet. By making SentinelDQ available through the Smart Ports Alliance, my goal is to democratise access to the transformational tools that can underpin the optimisation of the supply chain and create a thriving maritime data economy. I also believe that customers want to know that their data is safe and secure. Recent events in Australia have shown the damage and disruption that occurs when international trade gateways experience attacks. Good data management mitigates risk and creates a real competitive advantage that customers are willing to pay a premium for.
This amazing product and partnership paves the way for an independent industry certification scheme that organisations can use to demonstrate to their customers how serious they are about data.
